leaving the hospital

I was evicted today.  My BP is down and my incision looks good so they let me leave.  Kaylee came to visit me for a little while, she was worried about me and Austin.  She is so excited to meet him but she isn't allowed in the NICU because she not old enough and they worry about germs.  We spent an hour together and after she left I loaded my car and ran to Walmart, filled my prescription then went back to see bubbie.
Chris and I went out to celebrate his birthday @ Great Basin but our mind was with our son back at the hospital so we went so Chris could feed him.  He didn't realize I was taking a picture, he wasn't flipping me off he was holding the tube to feed Austin.  Austin is up to 1675g or 3# 10oz, he looks so much bigger!

Gilly gave us a preemie outfit and now that Austin is out of the lights he can wear clothes and this cute hat :)  Leaving the hospital was SO hard because I can't go check on him in the middle of the night like I had been.  I still have to wake up to pump but calling isn't the same and holding him...this could be a LONG night :(

Just one eye mom!

Bath time!  After his bath all Austin would give us was one eye.  Dad came to feed him and I'm not sure who is more tired dad or Austin.

Austin gained and is now up to 1630g or 3#9oz :)

Daddy feeds Austin

Austin's tiny hands and feet with g-ma Mary and daddy, he already has so much personality and only opens his eyes on "his" time.  Chris got to feed Austin today but I think he was a little scared.
Austin dropped wt again last night but since he just started eating I'm trying to stay positive, he now weighs 1589g or just over 3#8oz.
G-ma Mary is leaving soon and got to hold Austin one last time

SCARY!

4/18 wt. 1644g, Every night Austin get weighed, it's not unusual for babies to lose weight and because he was only on fluids I wasn't surprised by his wt. loss.  Today was a big day for Austin! He started getting my breastmilk through a tube, he had a PICC line inserted, he started under lights to reduce his bilirubin, and was removed from CPAP to high flow NC. Today Austin scared all of us when he stopped breathing. Dad and g-ma Cindy were with Austin and they removed the clamp from his belly button, Austin was tired and gave everyone a scare. The nurses rushed to him and he is now fine but this all happened right before change of shift. When Chris came to tell me I was unable to go to my little boy, this was the LONGEST hour and a half of my life waiting to see Austin.

no more CPAP!
I DO NOT like this tube in my mouth!

He's HERE!

Saturday I had my baby shower, afterwards I wasn't feeling well with a back ache and heartburn. I put it off, took a shower and some tylenol...after 6 hours the pain was still there and I was no where near sleeping like I should have been @ midnight. Finally @ 3 I took my BP and it was high 190/99 so I decided with all the problems I should go in. By the time I got to L&D my BP was 222/111. My labs showed my platlets were down and my liver enzyems were elevated. My perinatologist suggested I get the steroid shot to mature Austin's lungs and hang out on Mag in L&D for 48 hours. I wasn't looking forward to it but agreed this was best for baby. Then after an hour my Dr changed his mind and decided we were going to be c/s in 2 hours! Not a crash c/s but before anything went wrong. At 1025AM Austin came into the world screaming (best sound ever!) and was whisked to NICU. He weighed 3lbs 13.5oz (1745g) @ 33wks1day. I got to see him around 5pm which felt like an eternity. He was on CPAP for his immature lungs but doing well.

Maternity pics

So I debated for a long time at taking these because my face is SO puffy and I just don't feel cute but I really fell in LOVE with this pic so I am thankful we took them. I had my mother in law come to our house and of course there are ones I'm not a fan of but in the end I won't regret these pics :)
Always kiss me goodnight, I love this saying!
