Austin would be...ONE!

Today I was a mess of emotions! I cried, and yelled and slept and hugged. Our baby boy should have been in my arms and he is in God's arms instead. (at least I hope!)
Many people were amazing today releasing balloons to Austin in heaven, saying prayers, thinking about Austin and our family. We have an AMAZING support system and I don't know how I would get through this last year without all those who have been here. From calls/txts/visits/food/donations...the list goes on!

At 1025 I went to Chris' work and we said a prayer and released a balloon together. When Chris got off work, we loaded Macy up and the 3 of us went on top of Peavin (mt behind our house that overlooks Reno) and had a picnic and spread some of Austin's ashes. We know he can see us all the time but it was symbolic to scatter them hoping they travel back towards us. I tend to have silly thoughts to get me through our loss! We had a bath and relaxed reminiscing on Austin's short little life and the life of our new little baby to come. I will always wonder what Austin would have done, at what age, what he liked and hated but these questions won't be answered for a long time to come...

Sad Easter

Chris and I spent the day staying busy, distracted really. He went fishing while I helped a friend move. The past 2 years we haven't been invited to have Easter with anyone so it's our own holiday. I made ribs and Cory joined us. Chris insisted we say a prayer and that was the extent of our "religiousness". It's crazy how a year (seconds really) can change your entire life! Last year 1st Easter I was showering Austin and God with love, this year is not so much the same. I miss what would have been Austin first Easter bunny picture, egg hunt and overall joy of my baby boy. RIP Angel, XOXO love Mom

March...in like a lion

What a month we have had! Chris and I have been house hunting, exciting and nerve wreaking all at the same time. on March 20th we found a house that BOTH of us liked (never thought that was possible with our extensive requirements) so began the loan process. in the midst of our new endeavor Chris was wrongfully terminated, I was a very irate wifey, contacted a lawyer but found out fighting wouldn't be worth the payoff; EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! Luckily Chris is amazing at what he does and within a week had a new job. I was also successful when I applied for a per Diem job. The mega millions jackpot hit an all time high of 640 million and although we weren't millionaires i did win $170 ;)

So the biggest news of march is we are PREGNANT, (HAD TO SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST)
surprise :)
We are over joyed at our unexpected blessing. We are not sure officially but thinking we will be having a Thanksgiving baby. Our first appointment isn't until the end of April so we will be updating via our blog...stay tuned!

A person's a person, no matter how small

A person's a person, no matter how small... Austin on the Truffula tree As of today :)
The story is:
I used to have a blog entitled The Wishing Tree. I would put names of angel's who've passed away onto a paper and tie them to the tree. I would add angels and take photos of their names on my tree. Well then we moved away from our tree and I no longer had access to continue my project.

We've moved our final time and have a perfect little tree. Right now it's winter and the tree is so grey, so I was thinking about making pompoms to go on the tree just for fun. While discussing this my friend asked me if I could make a blue one for her son.

I decided to run with the idea and the puffs made me think of Horton Hears a Who and the famous quote 'a person's a person no matter how small.' And the puffs reminded me of the top of the Truffula Trees from the Lorax. Thus this blog was born.

The Truffula Tree, a place to have your child remembered by name with a colored pompom. You can request a pom pom color and I will do my best to find it for you. Because of the size of the tags I can't do full names but on the blog post I will post your angel's full name and date(s) if you wish plus link to your blog.
